activpayroll shows its support for Mission Christmas and Aberdeen Cyrenians'
The festive season has brought out the charitable side in everyone at activpayroll this week. As part of Northsound 1’s yearly initiative, Mission Christmas, run by Cash for Kids the activpayroll team was encouraged to each bring a new and unwrapped Christmas gift into work in order to help the less fortunate.
With more than one in six children living in poverty in our area, employees were encouraged to purchase a gift for a boy or girl that was suitable for children and young people aged 0-18 years old. A generous selection of toys, games and books were donated to the cause, along with a cash donation.
The initiative will ensure that 4,000 underprivileged children and teens in the North East will wake up with at least three gifts on Christmas morning thanks to the donations raised by the Aberdeen Mission Christmas gift bank.
In addition to the Mission Christmas donation, activpayroll also donated a generous cheque to Aberdeen Cyrenians’. Aberdeen Cyrenians’ help those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or affected by homelessness in some way.
Alison Sellar, Chief Executive Officer of activpayroll, said: “We understand that Christmas isn’t always a happy time for people living in poverty, the thought of children waking up on Christmas morning to nothing is heart-breaking. It is also a time when those with nowhere to go on Christmas Day can be most vulnerable. With this in mind, we really encouraged every team member to get involved, resulting in an impressive amount of gifts and donations.”
