A team from activpayroll Aberdeen has once again laced up their walking shoes in support of Maggie’s, taking part in the annual Maggie’s Culture Crawl, a unique fundraising event that combines culture, community and compassion to raise vital funds for cancer support services across the UK.

Held on 20 June 2025, the event saw hundreds of participants set off from Hazlehead Park to walk an 8.5-mile route around the city, exploring some of Aberdeen’s most iconic cultural landmarks along the way. This year, nearly 30 colleagues from activpayroll’s Aberdeen office joined the effort, continuing a long-standing company tradition of charitable fundraising.

Continuing a Culture of Community Support

Charity and community engagement have been an important part of activpayroll since the company was founded. Over the years, employees have taken part in numerous fundraising challenges and local initiatives to support causes close to their hearts and the Maggie’s Culture Crawl has become a regular feature in the activpayroll calendar.

Supporting a Different Kind of Cancer Care

Maggie’s Centres provide free practical, emotional and psychological support for anyone living with cancer, as well as for their families and friends. Designed by leading architects, each centre offers a warm and welcoming environment where people can find advice, connection and comfort at no cost. The Aberdeen centre, like others across the UK, relies entirely on voluntary donations to deliver its vital work.

Following this year’s event, Maggie’s Aberdeen announced that an incredible £67,500 was raised through the 2025 Culture Crawl. These funds will directly support people affected by cancer in the local community.

In a message shared with participants, Maggie’s Aberdeen said: “We are delighted to share that an incredible £67,500 has been raised at Culture Crawl 2025. On behalf of the team at Maggie's Aberdeen, we would like to thank everyone involved in Culture Crawl. A special thanks goes to the hundreds of supporters that took part and raised funds, our team of volunteers and street marshals, and all of the venues involved.

“Your support is greatly appreciated and will make a meaningful impact at Maggie’s Aberdeen, allowing our expert team to continue providing a different kind of cancer care.”

Making the Right Impact

The activpayroll team is proud to have contributed to this outstanding fundraising total and remains committed to supporting initiatives that make a real difference in the community. The money raised will help Maggie’s to provide expert cancer care, ensuring that people in the local area can access the practical guidance, emotional support and compassion they need during challenging times.
