Singapore’s Inland Revenue Authority (IRAS) launched major upgrades to its myTax Portal starting 18 August 2025, marking a significant step forward in digital tax administration. These enhancements are designed to improve user experience, streamline compliance, and align with global standards—making them highly relevant for payroll and tax professionals worldwide.
Employers: Streamlined Employment Income Submissions
From 15 September 2025, IRAS will roll out a refreshed interface and improved functionality for employment income submissions:
- Year-Round AIS Registration: Employers can register for the Auto-Inclusion Scheme (AIS) anytime.
- Extended Data Pre-Filling: Data from CPF Board and Ministry of Manpower will auto-populate employee records.
- Back-Year Filing Flexibility: Employers can now file up to 4 years of past employment income.
- Simplified IR8A Form: Several data fields have been removed, and Form IR8S is no longer required.
- Enhanced Appendix 8A: Up to 10 accommodation records per employee can be submitted in one go.
Partnership Taxpayers: Smarter Filing, Greater Transparency
IRAS has introduced several features to simplify partnership tax filing:
- SMS Filing Notifications: Precedent partners will receive SMS alerts about filing obligations, complementing paper notices.
- Intuitive Dashboard: A new landing page replaces the “View Filing Status” screen, offering a clearer view of outstanding returns.
- Extended e-Filing Window: Partnerships can file Form P from 1 February to 31 December of the current Year of Assessment.
- Mandatory Precedent Partner Identification: Partnerships must identify their precedent partner during e-Filing if not already provided.
- ACRA Data Integration: For partnerships registered with ACRA (≤10 partners), partner details are pre-filled based on official records.
- Streamlined Filing for Large Partnerships: Those with >10 partners must use IRAS’ validated Partnership Allocation Template, reducing errors and improving processing efficiency.
Property Owners & Professionals: New Digital Services
- Apply for Land Remission: Eligible residential property owners can now apply for owner-occupier tax rates digitally when rebuilding or constructing homes.
- Enhanced Property Ownership Updates: Property professionals benefit from expanded search options, bulk uploads, duplicate transfer records, and CSV exports for easier submissions.
Intermediaries & Self-Employment Income: Easier Submissions
- Improved Layout: A refreshed design simplifies submissions for intermediaries.
- Centralised Notices: All submission-related notices are now accessible via the “View Notices” inbox.
- Simplified Excel Templates: Fewer required fields and streamlined formats for commission-paying organisations and private-hire operators.
