A Strategic Investment in India

Gary Henderson, CEO of activpayroll, said: “Opening in Kochi is about much more than adding another location to our global business. India has an exceptional talent base and is already strategically important for many of our customers, so establishing our own presence creates a real opportunity for activpayroll.

“We have an experienced team leading the operation from day one, giving us a strong foundation from which to bring in new local talent, build capability and create genuine career opportunities.”

“This is part of a much wider growth story for activpayroll. We will continue investing internationally, getting closer to our customers and building the talent and capabilities that will support our future.”

Why Kochi, Why India

India's highly skilled workforce and growing technology and professional services sectors make it an exciting location for the next stage of activpayroll's development.

A significant proportion of our global customer base already has operations in India, with many also having senior leadership and management teams based in the country. Establishing a permanent presence brings us closer to those customers while providing access to a strong and diverse talent pool.

The new office initially supports activpayroll's global operations, with plans to expand the team and the capabilities delivered from Kochi over time.

Our ambition is to build a sustainable presence that creates meaningful career and development opportunities locally while strengthening the services we deliver around the world.

Building on Experience

The Kochi team began with experienced colleagues transitioning from activpayroll’s Dubai operation, bringing with them extensive knowledge of our business, our customers and how we work.

Several long-standing team members are playing leading roles in establishing the office, providing valuable operational experience and continuity while creating a strong foundation from which to recruit and develop the wider team locally.

Kimberly Morrison, Middle East & South Africa Payroll Operations Manager, is leading the development of the Kochi team, with Manish Mehta, Regional Director of Payroll Operations and Head of Global Support Services APAC, supporting its integration within activpayroll's wider APAC operations.

Part of Our International Growth

The new office officially opened on 1 October, with a ceremony bringing together activpayroll leaders, colleagues and invited guests, with Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark, and Jacob Sebastian, Senior Trade Advisor – Financial Services at the British Deputy High Commission, Bengaluru, joining as Guests of Honour. Their participation reflects the importance of Kochi’s growing business ecosystem and the wider UK - India relationship as activpayroll establishes its first operational hub in India.

As our first permanent base in India, Kochi represents another important step in activpayroll's international development, adding further capacity and expertise to support our teams and customers globally.

The Next Chapter in India

Our investment in India is focused on the long term. As the Kochi team develops, we will continue creating opportunities for local talent, broadening the expertise available from the office and strengthening its role across our international business.

The opening brings together the experience of established activpayroll colleagues with the opportunity to build a new team and capability in India.

By scaling, streamlining, or ensuring your people are taken care of, we bring absolute clarity to your global business.
