Ireland Launches Public Gender Pay Gap Portal

Ireland has launched the public-facing Gender Pay Gap Portal, providing a centralised platform for accessing employer gender pay gap reports. The launch marks the next phase of Ireland's gender pay gap reporting framework and comes ahead of the planned introduction of mandatory portal submissions from the 2026 reporting cycle. 

On 18 June 2026, the Department of Children, Disability and Equality launched the public side of the Gender Pay Gap Portal, making gender pay gap reports submitted through the platform available to the public. 

The portal provides access to reports submitted by employers since its voluntary launch in November 2025 and enables users to: 

According to the Department, the portal has been developed to provide a single source of gender pay gap reporting information and support transparency in reporting. 

Ireland introduced mandatory gender pay gap reporting under the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021. 

Employers within scope must publish information on differences in remuneration between male and female employees. They must also publish a statement setting out: 

The reporting requirements have been introduced on a phased basis, with the employee threshold reducing over time. Since 2025, employers with more than 50 employees have been required to report gender pay gap information. 

Employers must calculate their gender pay gap data using a snapshot date in June each year and publish their reports within five months. 

The Gender Pay Gap Portal was launched on a voluntary basis on 18 November 2025, enabling employers to submit their reports through a central government platform. 

Reports submitted during the voluntary phase are now publicly available through the portal. 

The Irish Government has confirmed that legislation is being amended to require employers subject to gender pay gap reporting obligations to submit their reports through the portal from the 2026 reporting cycle onwards. 

Employers will continue to be required to publish their gender pay gap reports on their own website or otherwise make them publicly accessible in accordance with existing legislative requirements.
