On Sunday 4 June 2017, the Aberdeen activpayroll team took part in the 26 mile Aberdeen Kiltwalk in aid of Children 1st.

Despite all the aches and pains after taking part in the 2016 Kiltwalk, the Aberdeen team decided to tackle the 26 mile walk once again, this time in aid of Children 1st. Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity, helping families put children first, with practical advice and support in difficult times.

Alongside 1,800 other participants, the team set off from Duthie Park at 9am, making their way out of the city centre and into Aberdeenshire, passing through locations including Peterculter, Drumoak, Crathes, Banchory, and finally crossing the finishing line in Potarch.

Children 1st is one of activpayroll’s chosen charities for 2017 and aside from the Kiltwalk, the team will also be taking part in the Loch Ness Marathon and Forth Bridge Abseil in September to raise funds for the charity.

Alison Sellar, CEO of activpayroll, commented, “Everyone in the team was slightly apprehensive about taking part in the event again after how challenging it was last year. Despite this, we had to keep in mind why we were doing it and how much it would help the most vulnerable of children. The spirit within the team was very encouraging and motivated us to the finish line.”
