In May 2020, Alison was set to take part in Cycle Croatia, a three-day charity cycle across the country, however due to the ongoing outbreak of coronavirus, this has now been postponed to next year. Still wanting to raise vital funds for charity and take on the challenge this year, Alison has decided to complete the cycle from her own home.
Alison will cover the same distance and route she would if she was cycling across Croatia (albeit without the beautiful views), however she will be completing it all from her spin bike. Alison has previously tackled other cycling challenges including Ride the North, Vietnam to Cambodia and the Yorkshire Sportive.
Inspired by the amazing efforts of Captain Tom Moore, the 99-year-old who has raised over £28 million for the NHS by walking over 100 lengths of his garden, Alison will be cycling in aid of NHS Charities Together, supporting NHS staff and volunteers caring for Covid-19 patients.
To celebrate Tom, the cycle will start on Tuesday 28th April (Tom’s 100th birthday) and finish on Thursday 30th April in time for the weekly NHS clap.
