PRIMARY FUNCTION

To support the global IT development for activpayroll in all product and project-based development activity including the delivery of all operational improvements through technology automation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Principal Duties

  • Leading the development of our web-based people management and data processing tools
  • Leading the development of software solutions to streamline our global payroll processes
  • Maintain and develop a thorough and up-to-date working technical knowledge of enterprise digital solutions
  • Maintain a detailed technical understanding of our products, systems, technologies, architecture and data sets
  • Multitask development projects with internal application support requests
  • Regular communication to line manager especially whist working on large projects
  • Meet with customers to document requirements and identify areas where processes can be improved through technology
  • Offer an analytical approach to problem solving and solution design
  • Adhere to department standard operating procedures
  • Compliance with company procedures

Service Excellence

  • Ensure that any serious issues/problems are raised with the IT Manager

Team Focus

  • Prioritisation of own workload on day to day basis
  • Must be able to work in a team and follow strict guidelines for the development of applications
  • Must have ability to provide innovative solution

Professional & Personal Development

  • Ensure that PPR objectives are reviewed with IT Manager regularly
  • Must undertake regular training related to secure software development practices

Competencies

  • Must have at least 4 years database and programming experience
  • Extensive MS SQL database experience is required
  • Extensive .NET (C# and VB.NET) experience is required
  • Extensive HMTL/CSS/JavaScript experience is required
  • Excellent knowledge of Classic ASP is desirable
  • Experience with Secure Software Development practices and standards
  • Basic understanding of Windows OS experience across all versions is desirable
  • Must be able to work in a team and follow strict guidelines for the development of applications
  • Understand and adhere to development and testing best practice
  • Be able to work with minimum supervision and have the ability to be innovative
  • Must have good personable skills and be able to attend meetings with customers for technical discussions
